In a surprising turn of events, Sony has stripped it’s Spider-Man franchise away from Disney’s gentle embrace, effectively tearing the friendly neighborhood hero out of the Avengers.
Emotions ran high today as a breaking story from Deadline announced that Feige and Sony have parted ways. The aftermath is a true tragedy, as fans all over are heartbroken to hear they will probably have to watch another Spider-Man origin film in 4 – 6 years.
Despite there being two announced Spider-Man films with Tom Holland and director Jon Watts attached, Sony will no longer work with Disney to guarantee the creative and financial future of their franchise. Instead, like the cowards they are, Sony has casted out Feige (Praise be His name) and the MCU from Spider-Man’s pubescent life. Like Icarus, they have flown too close to the sun, got a taste of success, and callously told Disney that they don’t want to split the billions Spider-Man’s standalone films make in profit. They really think they know enough to keep their franchise, and the 58 planned spin-offs, successful!
No matter what, we here at TSFO are committed to telling you, our readers, the whole story and we will keep you all updated as soon as Disney and Sony acknowledge our calls.
